After Attending PAINWeek 2007, Delegates Will Be Able to:
- Distinguish acute from chronic pain, understand the mechanisms of action of pain types, and determine effective treatment protocols
- Evaluate approved and developing analgesic and adjuvant therapies
- Recognize cultural barriers that impede diagnosis and management of pain
- Assess the importance of functional capacity evaluations (FCEs)
- Demonstrate clinical interviewing and physical examination competency
- Interpret laboratory and imaging studies as they relate to pain diagnostics
- Distinguish multiple pain syndromes (eg, abdominal, back, neuropathic, rheumatologic)
- Identify pain management needs for palliative and end-of-life care
