After Attending PAINWeek 2007, Delegates Will Be Able to:

  • Distinguish acute from chronic pain, understand the mechanisms of action of pain types, and determine effective treatment protocols
  • Evaluate approved and developing analgesic and adjuvant therapies
  • Recognize cultural barriers that impede diagnosis and management of pain
  • Assess the importance of functional capacity evaluations (FCEs)
  • Demonstrate clinical interviewing and physical examination competency
  • Interpret laboratory and imaging studies as they relate to pain diagnostics
  • Distinguish multiple pain syndromes (eg, abdominal, back, neuropathic, rheumatologic)
  • Identify pain management needs for palliative and end-of-life care
