State Mandates for Pain Education

Several states have led the way in mandating continuing medical education (CME) requirements in pain management for clinicians.

California
AB 487 requires California-licensed physicians to obtain, as a one-time requirement, 12 units of CME in pain management and the appropriate care and treatment of the terminally ill.

Oregon
Oregon has mandated a minimum of 7 CME/CE credit hours in pain management. Attending PAINWeek 2007 will help meet these requirements.
